The inaugural meeting of the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors (click for info about the Board) starts at 10 am today. The Chair and Vice-Chair will be elected.
Despite multiple strong requests, Metro Vancouver still refuses to make meeting videos available online later. Please ask your local City Council to push for live and archived video of ALL Board and Committee meetings of Metro Vancouver.
Update: Greg Moore was re-elected as Chair, and Raymond Louie as Vice-Chair. Both were by acclamation. There were no challengers.
Below is an excerpt of the agenda. CityHallWatch has expressed concern about one party from the City of Vancouver failing to share power with others on City Council: Vision set to take all 7 posts at Metro Vancouver Board.

Time and Place
Meetings will be held at 9:00 a.m. in the 2nd floor boardroom, 4330 Kingsway, Burnaby, British Columbia unless otherwise specified on the Metro Vancouver public notice board, Metro Vancouver website, and the respective agenda.
To provide the Board with the 2015 schedule of regular board meetings of the Board of Directors.
The Board Procedure Bylaw requires the Corporate Officer, no later than the last board meeting in December, to provide the Board with an annual schedule of regular board meetings for the upcoming year, including the date, time and place of the meetings. Meetings will be held according to this schedule unless otherwise determined by board resolution.
To accommodate the business of the Board, the 2015 regular board meetings have been scheduled approximately every three weeks. In past years, the Board convened either monthly semimonthly: monthly meetings sometimes proved too infrequent, while semimonthly meetings did not always have sufficient agenda items. However, in keeping with past convention, Board meetings have been scheduled for Fridays (with one exception in October).
The 2015 board meeting schedule accommodates the timing of standing committees and
subcommittees, as well as statutory holidays, main conferences for elected officials (i.e. LMLGA, FCM and UBCM), and the two‐week student spring break.
This report is presented for information only; no alternatives are presented.
Board meeting expenses and remuneration have been allocated in the annual budget.
SUMMARY / CONCLUSION
Pursuant to the Board Procedure Bylaw, an annual schedule of regular board meetings for 2015 has been prepared. The 2015 schedule continues the practice of holding board meetings on Fridays, but introduces a model of board meetings being held every three weeks, where possible, in the hope of better aligning board meeting frequency with board business. Public notice of the regular board meeting schedule will be made on the public notice board and the Metro Vancouver website.
