COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE: A REPORT ON “DEMOVICTIONS” IN METROTOWN
Wednesday May 4, 2016, start 6:30pm
Burnaby Neighbourhood House
(4460 Beresford, just south of the Metrotown Skytrain Station)

In February and March, volunteers with the Stop Demovictions Burnaby Campaign conducted a social impact survey on the square block at Dunblane and Imperial just east of Metrotown where over two hundred apartments face immediate demolition. Through these surveys we recorded the experiences of residents facing eviction, what their community means to them, and what it will mean to be evicted. What we found delivers a powerful message that we believe must change city policies that currently allow and encourage these demolitions.

Join us on Wednesday May 4th for an open house and soft launch of the report that we have drafted from this survey. We will present the research findings and recommendations, and hope the community can contribute further and help fill in gaps before we release it (soon!) to city hall and the world.
