ABOUT (Excerpt): The Just Film Festival brings the pursuit of justice to the big screen. We feature social justice and environmental documentaries that go to the heart of issues confronting communities here and around the planet. The focus of the festival is to motivate audiences to action by spotlighting issues both local and global. It runs March 20 – 22, 2015 at Langara College in Vancouver and is BC’s largest social justice film festival.
The Just Film Festival is a collaboration between a group of partner organizations in Vancouver, BC who work together to present superb documentary film. Our festival features environmental and social justice documentaries set around the world and across the street.
Formerly known as the Vancouver World Community Film Festival, the festival has been produced by CoDevelopment Canada and World Community for the past 14 years and has been held at Langara for the last ten. In 2013, the festival had a reorganization that brought additional partners including Amnesty International and Village Vancouver on board to produce the festival.
The Just Film Festival is the Vancouver part of the Travelling World Community Film Festival, which travels to communities across Canada bringing documentary films to places where they are seldom seen.
The Just Film Festival continues to host the Langara Student Film Festival, which feature short documentary films made by students in the colleges film program.
The views expressed in the content of the Festival do not necessarily reflect those of Amnesty International, CoDev, Langara College, Village Vancouver, or our supporters.
