Municipal politicians often earn additional income by serving on boards and committees. The remuneration and expenses for all Directors, alternate Directors and Committee members serving on Metro Vancouver boards was obtained recently under an FOI request. The first table shows the results for ‘top 10’ salaries for 2011, while the second table shows the full list. Please note that there are often additional stipends due to chairing committees and for taking on additional tasks.

The compensation for a Metro Vancouver Director is detailed in Bylaw 1057. Currently the Metro Vancouver Board rate for a meeting under 4 hours is $330 or for more than 4 hours the rate is $660.
