Coquitlam Council

We wrote earlier that Coquitlam would discuss the designation of General Urban land on the Westwood Plateau to Conservation and Recreation tonight, but this was not correct. The Westwood Plateau issue was discussed at last Monday’s council (Feb 21) meeting. This motion was deferred until after a public hearing (regarding this and other RGS issues) on March 9, 2011.
8. Notice of Motion – Redesignation of the Westwood Plateau Golf Course Lands
That Council give consideration to the following Notice of Motion presented by Councillor Sekora and seconded by Councillor Lynch at the February 7, 2011 Regular Council Meeting: “That Metro Vancouver be requested to redesignate the Westwood Plateau Golf Course lands, which are presently designated in the draft Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) as “General Urban” and in the City of Coquitlam’s Official Community Plan as “Extensive Recreation”, to the RGS “Conservation and Recreation” land use designation.”
